Ben Czapnik
Ben started his career with the Australian government (DFAT) as an international trade lawyer and negotiator, including on a diplomatic posting to Australia's Permanent Mission to the WTO where his portfolio included trade remedies and the fisheries subsidies negotiations. As an Adviser with several Geneva-based UN agencies (International Trade Centre, Economic Commission for Europe) and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, he provided technical assistance to developing countries on international trade policy and negotiations. Ben has a PhD on the relationship between international trade law and animal protection. His current focus is on academic research and independent consulting to governments and firms.Â
