Mandy Carter

Co-Executive Director

Mandy brings over 20 years of global experience in policy, advocacy, campaigns and farmed animal welfare. She has worked in advocacy across the UK, EU and New Zealand, including as Global Head of Campaigns at Compassion in World Farming International. At Compassion she led the End the Cage Age European Citizens' Initiative - one of the biggest citizen-led policy campaigns in history, which secured a commitment from the European Commission to phase out cages and apply equivalent standards to imports.


As Co-Executive Director, Mandy oversees API's work across all regions, spanning strategy, policy, communications and organisational leadership.


Mandy is a British citizen and a permanent resident of both New Zealand and Portugal.
