Rainer leads API’s work in New Zealand. An experienced policy professional, Rainer works with farmers, NGOs and policymakers to advance farmed animal welfare policy and build the case for responsible imports standards.

Rainer has a background in public affairs, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications, with experience spanning sustainability, alternative proteins and international business. Rainer also has a track record of building initiatives from the ground up, having co-founded several ventures.
